History

The British Army is the land armed forces branch of her Majesty the Queen's Armed Forces.

In the 1700's when England and Scotland amalgamated, the Army incorporated the regiments which had previously existed between the two. Since 1963, this has been regulated by the Ministry of Defence.

As well as defending the United Kingdon, the British Army is required to fight further afield if it thought that they can help stabalise a country's infighting, or stop threats to the rest of the world.

Over the years the Army has been involved in two world wars, the Falklands war, been present in Northern Ireland, fought in the Iraq war and are currently trying to topple the Taliban in Afghanistan.

Unfortunately due to the nature of war there have been many many casualties over the years. As a thankyou from the nation we have days such as Remembrance Day where the public can remember the fallen heroes and show their support for the current armed forces.
